There have been whispers that Chapman isn't worth the kind of big time money he is reported to be seeking, and this move is almost surely in response to them. Whoever is representing him, he will almost certainly find a very lucrative payday.

Now that Toronto has publicly admitted the long obvious, maybe they will get going on getting something in return for him. The usuals, New York, Boston and Los Angeles, are rumored to be most interested.

Apparently Contreras has contacted the Hanshin Tigers and will be visiting Japan next week. He's entering his 16-year-old son in an exchange program, but will likely reach out to some pro clubs while overseas. The 37-year-old finished last season with a 4.92 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in his 23 starts, so he likely won't be fantasy relevant even if he stays stateside.

Valdez compiled a 3.43 ERA between Double-A and Triple-A last season, but it was the first time in his seven minor league seasons that the 26-year-old reached Triple-A. The former Yankee farmhand was added to the 40-man roster so the Astros can protect him from the Rule 5 draft, but don't count on him to make much of, if any, impact on the 2010 season.

Bay has already turned down a four-year $60 million deal from the Red Sox and made it clear that he wants to test the free agent market, so it makes sense that Boston would explore their options. Still, don't count the Sox out of Bay sweepstakes. Along with the Angels, they are still the favorites to land him. If Bay is the first man snatched up out of the big-time free agent pool, expect Boston to increase their pursuit of Matt Holliday.

He was diving for a loose ball, and will not return. Expect his status to be update later Saturday or on Sunday.

Labonte is definitely an upgarde from TRG's standpoint, but it isn't exactly a first-class ride for the former champ. The ownership at TRG is confident that they will be more competitive next season, but fantasy owners shouldn't expect to see the No. 71 car posting top 10s any time soon.

The last driver to win four straight races at the same track in the series was Jamie McMurray, who won four in a row at Rockingham from 2002-2004. Busch has a chance to complete a Texas trifecta this weekend. He won the Truck Series event Friday as well.

Kahne has used the new motor sporadically this year, but Richard Petty Motorsports has had issues with durability with the engine. It has performed well thus far this weekend. Kahne was strong in practice and will start on the outside of the front row.

Burton wrecked in the first practice session for the Nationwide race on the exit of Turn 2. The swap was precautionary, and Burton is expected to be fine for the Cup race. However, fantasy owners should remember to remove Burton from their Nationwide lineups.

The organization is reportedly considering a switch from Chevroley to Toyota, but the nothing has been finalized. With GM's financial issues, a move to Toyota offers the organization more security. However, Teresa Earnhardt is apparently holding up the swap because she is worried about going with a non-American manufacturer.

Senior, the winner of 18 tournaments in his home country, three events in Japan and four more on the PGA European Tour, had a 17-under 266 total on TPC Scottsdale's Champions Course. The top five finishers earned full exemptions for the 2010 season, while Nos. 6-12 received conditional exemptions. Senior also earned $30,000.

Allenby had eight birdies and only one bogey on the Earth Course. He was one shot ahead of Westwood, Wood and Villegas, all carding rounds of 66. When the tournament ends Sunday, the top player on the European Tour's money list will win a $1.5 million bonus from the Race to Dubai. Westwood, second in the race, was two shots ahead of money leader McIlroy of Northern Ireland, who shot a 68. Haskins, the 51-year-old son of late Hall of Fame basketball coach Don Haskins, had a 17-under 199 total on TPC Scottsdale's Champions Course, holding a four-stroke lead over Ronnie Black. Black, a two-time winner on the PGA Tour, shot a 64. Peter Senior, a winner of 19 tournaments in Australia as well as four events on the PGA European Tour, had a 68 to join Curt Byrum (68) at 12-under.

Haskins, the 51-year-old son of late Hall of Fame basketball coach Don Haskins, had an 11-under 131 total on TPC Scottsdale's Champions Course. Haskins played 16 years on the Nationwide Tour but quit professional golf four years ago to join T&T Staff Management, an El Paso-based employee leasing company.

Norman was seaking from the Dubai World Championship, the European Tour's final event of the season. This tourney was slated for a $10 million purse but trimmed $2.5 million in September due to sponsorship concerns during the recession. Norman also took time to urge the professional golfers of the world to support both the PGA and European Tours, noting it is time for the players to "step up to the plate and be alert to it."
